by

Event: Club Race in support of NASCAR K&N race and Special Advanced Driver School
Dates: September 16-17 (CR); September 17 (Driver School)
Track: NJMP – Thunderbolt
Driver School/VIP ticket Registration on Motorsportreg
Following the success of last year, we again are offering a special driver school open to instructors and advanced, solo driver school students to be run in conjunction with the Club Race to be held as the support race series for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race to be held on Thunderbolt Raceway at NJMP on Sep. 16-17. There will be no in-car instruction for this event – instructors and advanced students will share the track.
This will be an unstructured driver school with 6 hours of track time on Sunday Sep. 17. Because the school is being held after the K&N race this year, no race ticket is included in your registration fee. We will offer a separate option of purchasing a VIP spectator ticket for the races (see below). The VIP package includes special access to the Officer’s Club, a BBQ buffet, special spectator area and swag. Note that there will be Club Races on both Saturday and Sunday; NASCAR K&N will run Saturday only. A second support series (NARRA) will run on Friday and Saturday.
For Club Racing this is a tremendous opportunity: two days of racing at a professional race series event. Everyone who participated last year raved about how much fun they had and this year WE HAVE 4 RACES ON A WEEKEND DATE! This is the chance to showcase Club Racing to an audience that may not be familiar with what we do, sports car racing that has cars in different classes on the track. For other fans, this is a chance to see where current racers such as Will Turner, Bill Auberlen, James Clay, Jeff Segal and our own Jerry Kaufman started. For our participants, we get to see the up and coming NASCAR racers of the future, and maybe teach them a thing or two about road course racing. And, you can tell yourselves that spectators are actually paying to come see you drive!
Club Racers will have a total of 4 races on the weekend! 2 on Saturday (including the Feature Race just before the K&N race) and 2 on Sunday.
Register here on Motorsportreg for Club Racing.
REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT IS LIMITED TO 50 CARS EACH FOR THE DRIVER SCHOOL AND FOR CLUB RACING. YOU MUST REGISTER AND PAY IN ADVANCE TO PARTICIPATE. DUE TO CONTRACTUAL ARRANGEMENTS WITH NJMP, THE “WHEELS ON TRACK” POLICY WILL NOT APPLY FOR RACERS. ADVANCED STUDENTS ARE ACCEPTED ONLY AFTER APPROVAL BY THE EVENT CHAIR.
Other details of registration times, entry times, paddock parking, etc. will be provided as we get close to the event.
VIP Ticket for NASCAR K&N race: We are offering a discounted price VIP ticket for all BMW CCA members for the Saturday K&N race activities. The VIP package includes special access to the Officer’s Club, a BBQ buffet, special spectator area, special car corral parking and swag.
