New roll cage rules

Post by badbadm »

Can anybody provide some clarity on this issue? A few NJ-chapter members are working on car build-ups at the moment, and it would be much appreciated I'm sure.

"as raced, with fuel and driver" Means I will have to strip my Spec E30 car of weight (AC, power steering, interior, sunroof parts?) to drop under 3001 lbs and be legal with 1.75x.095. Ouch.

EDIT: I read a little more of the thread and found this:

Now the weights are "without fuel and driver" which means I'm keeping my autocross friendly power steering.

Roll Cage Changes.

Post by aikimo »

Dear All,

I spoke with Dave M. last night, and the changes on the roll cages diameter only effect larger cars such as a 5 series. The roll cage weight rules do NOT include the fluids or the driver. So for example an I-prepared e36 M3 is ~2800 lbs, so the .095 tubing would be fine..

Have fun!
Mo

Oh, geez, I guess I'll have to put my 850CSi club racer on hold AGAIN.
:)
Thanks Mo.
