In the late-90s I used to teach a class for one of the approved providers... we even had one class dedicated to NJ CCA members.
Even though this is the "legal" training, I think the parking lot training is a lot more helpful!
Street Survival for Adults?
Yes, but the coaches aren't volunteers.Mmadness wrote:Yes, the closest I've found is DriveSafer (https://www.drivesafer.com/). It is very similair to the TRSS program but costs a heck of a lot more.

Exactly. Also, think about this - we get about 50-60 people at an autox at $50 each. We only have maybe 6 instructors too. Take that down to maybe 25-30 people and the relative cost approaches $100pp at least, plus we have to get an equal number of instructors.
Street Survival is subsidized by the BMWCCA Foundation, which helps quite a bit.
We have kicked around the idea of having such a class for a number of years now. The economics and logistics have nixed it in the past. Out of curiosity, what would you guys be willing to pay to attend a class like this?

Hey Guys,
I made contact with the NY BMWCCA guys regarding this event. They ran this the Adult driving school last year and it was very successful. Had to skip this year due to logistics issues.
Here are some contact names if we want to get the NY guys involved.

We are working on putting something together. Logistics are tough...between finding a lot and recruiting volunteers we're already looking uphill. I am optimistic we can find a way to make a school happen, but please be patient as we do so.
Thanks!
