TireRack Street Survival May 15

Post by larryengel328 »

For those of you interested, some time this week registration will open for a TireRack Street Survival school to be held at Raritan Expo Center in Edison on Sunday, May 15th. You can only register directly through their website at www.streetsurvival.org. We've asked that registration be opened this week, but we don't have control over exactly when it will show on the schedule. Our advice is to check the website frequently to see if it's open.

Larry, the correct website is http://www.streetsurvival.org/

Your website sends you to a police training program. We're not ready for that yet.

Are drivers with only a learner's permit still allowed to participate?

Ed,

Yes, they are.

However, the intent of the requirement (1/2 of time allowance for permit) is to be sure that the student has a lot of seat time in the car and for them to be as comfortable as possible.

We are not teaching them how to drive….. we are teaching them to drive better. Many of the exercises have them doing things in a car that a new driver can become easily intimidated.

Street Survival powers that be suggest a minimum of 25 hours behind the wheel before taking the school.

Please note, that the school has sold out so far, and any new entrants are going on the waiting list.

Wow, these events fill up fast. I though it would be fine to wait until a month before to make sure I could make it; I am now waitlisted.

Sam,

Thank you, at this time we have enough instructors for the event. If that should change we'll let you know.

The point being that it's a rain or shine event.
