Does anybody know if those split side mirrors, which they have on most cars in Germany, including the BMWs, would fit into the BMWs here? This mirror eliminates the dead spot, which has been a problem for me. It is always on the cars I rent in Germany, and work perfectly, you don't even have to swivel your head to change lanes.
I have them on all mine and my family's BMWs. You should be able to order them from the dealer. Best is to research on realoem.com to get the right PN. Also you'll have to check if your car has heated mirrors.
thanks, I already talked to my service guy, who of course said, not for the US, but he has been wrong before. I'm going to Germany in May if necessary, I'll buy them there.
I was able to order an E30 wide angle mirror from JMK or Hunterdon a few years ago without an hesitation. I've found that anytime I'm ordering something which didn't come on the car (euro parts, update/backdate, etc) it really helps to have the part number handy.

thanks guys, I found that same parts number on the german site, and gave it to the parts department, who are now ordering it for me. Apparently those mirrors don't exist for the 5 series E60.
