Alignment shop recommendation in NNJ

Post by afadeev »

Folks,

Can someone recommend an alignment shop specialist to help tweak my MINI after coil-overs and a whole bunch of other suspension pieces got bolted onto the car?

Ideally, it would be a shop renown for doing alignments, not just a gas station with an alignment rack.

Any leads within 100 mile radius of Summit would be most appreciated.

TIA,
alex

I know Shade Tree Garage @ Morristown NJ provides alignment services and is not a gas station.

You can also consider Don Fields at Mr///MCar in Farmingdale.

He has a Hunter aligner and he knows how to use it. Don is scheduled to participate at our monthly meeting on 20 Feb. Come to the meeting and let him convince you.

I go to Firestone. For $180, you get a lifetime alignment, come back as often as you want at any Firestone dealership for as long as you own the car. If you put some PB blaster on the tie rods and are diplomatic towards the person at the desk they'll adjust it to whatever you want. They're not going to give you advice on what to set the alignment to but if you know exactly what you wan't, nobody comes close on price.

I go to Mr. M Car for practically everything (including a wheel alignment). Note that he's moving at the end of the month from Monmouth Executive Airport to someplace very close to it.

Absolutely do the Firestone deal. I think mine cost me $160 from my local place. I got one done December after I did control arms and bushings. I redid my bushings and will be going back in April during my Spring Break. I ask for 0 toe in the front and they try to get as close to it as possible. That may mean up to 1/16" total toe depending on the guy doing it.

Two people I know did the firestone thing and love it. Lifetime alignments.. I hate to say it (because I do alignments), for $160 you cannot beat it.

Wheel Alignment in Northern NJ

Post by dkirch »

I have used euro-tire in Fairfield NJ for over 20 years. Wheel alignment on European, performance and race cars is there speciality. They are one of the only shops I have found to properly do a 4 wheel alignment on my E 46. They will align to factory spec or to your specifications. They also do a great job with wheels, tires and suspension install and set up. One of the few places to go to have tires mounted where they do not damage your wheels.

Give them a call http://www.eurotire.com/index.htm

Good luck
