I go to Firestone. For $180, you get a lifetime alignment, come back as often as you want at any Firestone dealership for as long as you own the car. If you put some PB blaster on the tie rods and are diplomatic towards the person at the desk they'll adjust it to whatever you want. They're not goin...

C&D Autobody in South Hackensack is the best around.

Our X5 was damaged and our insurance company wanted to use used body panels. C&D managed to get the insurance company to pay for new body panels and all associated trim pieces on the car. Great body shop to work with and a top notch job all around.

Looking at 95 M3 - emissions question!

I'm looking at a 95 M3 out of CT. It is slightly modified with a TRM chip, 540 MAF and 24 lb injectors. It does pass CT emissions, which is 25 minutes at 25% engine load. The sheet says the engine RPM was at 1865. The readings were this: HC: 100ppm CO: 0.22% NOx: 655ppm Now I know that NJ does a idl...

Autox duty E36

I'm seriously considering selling my E39 M5. I have an offer and I may just let my dream car go. I'd love to keep it as a garage queen, but I only have room for 1 car and I do not want to put my M5 through autox and daily driver duties. I want a car that is better at autox and maybe even be competit...

It is a generic OBD code. The Peake reader won't give me anything more detailed than a similar cat efficiency code. I also went to the sister BMW dealer of the dealer I work with and they scanned the DME and gave me the same faults my OBD code gave me. What I really need is to run INPA and look at m...

Need somebody with INPA or DIS/GT1

I've got a E39 M5 with a P0420 code. Based on the generic code, it says that my bank 1 cats are bad. I highly doubt that though. Does anybody in the Mountain Lakes/Parsippany/Morristown area have a diagnostic computer I can hook my car up to? I need to check my VANOS operation, fuel trims and O2 sen...

I couldn't quite tell the size of the course due to the scale, but if you say it's going to be 45+ seconds, I'm there!

See you guys on the 19th.

How big will this course be? What kinds of times are we expecting per run? ~60 sec runs?

I really don't like the TD Bank courses because of how small that lot is with an E39.

X5 Winter Tires - General Altimax Artic

Up for sale are BMW Style 57 (17x7.5) rims and General Altimax snow tires. They were on the X5 for a total of 4 months and have <4k miles on them. The tires are sized 235/65/17 and the rims fit 2000-2006 3.0i and 4.4i. No cracks, no bends, no issues. Used them last winter and decided not to put them...

Well, the car jnscaldwell sent me sold within a few days.

I just found a Infiniti G20t on Craigslist with bad A/C and a bad muffler. I hope it doesn't sell and I can snag it up for cheap. It satisfies the Japanese reliability aspect while it also has a 5-speed and LSD to make it enjoyable to drive.
