Re: Mechanic near Warren NJ for pre-purchase inspection

Hi, The one on this list I've actually used (many times) is Mr. Car. Don is extremely knowledgeable. My son has used the Shade Tree Garage -- they were great. The others I've heard great things (and Tyspeed gave a terrific demonstration of an engine rebuild at a recent club meeting). They're all abo...

PGC Cars & Coffee, Sat. April 9th

Hi all, the Performance Garage Club in Frenchtown, NJ will be hosting a Cars & Coffee on Sat., April 9th, starting at 9:30 am. There will be interesting cars to look at, and coffee and snacks available. It would be great to see some BMW CCA members come by, with or without an interesting car. The PG...

Re: AutoX Classification Help

Hi CT88, The class you enter into motorsportreg.com doesn't really matter -- the class doesn't get transferred to our timing and scoring software, we enter it manually at check-in. So we can determine your class when you check in at the event. If I had to take a guess, I'd say put it in A. Matthew C...

Mega-clag, replace tires?

Hi, I'm driving a 2005 Lotus Elise with Toyo Proxes R888R tires. As the car is very light (< 2,000 lbs.), tires last quite a while. Mine have 24 track days on them, and could probably last another eight or ten. But at the Thunderbolt event a week ago they picked up so much clag and gravel that I cou...

The Schroth seems like a newer design with some nice features -- whether they make any practical diff...

I also use Plymouth Rock, and have been happy with them. I don't think I've had a claim since we switched to them.
