Re: E36 M3 Anyone try Batteries in Parallel?

How about solar power, I'm pretty sure our autocross chairman uses a small solar cell that sits on the dash to charge the battery when the car is not in use. To be honest I don't know how well it works. You could contact him. Has the car been checked to be sure you don't have and excess parasitic dr...

Re: Charging system light

I suspect you needed a full alternator due to a deeper issue than the VR. I can't explain the weird electrical issues except that I've witnessed similar results after the battery was disconnected. Typically disconnecting the battery has no effect. You can imagine power cycling the battery could crea...

Re: Charging system light

From the numbers you show I agree the alternator is not performing up to par. Like most cars in the last 4 or 5 decades, the E46 alternator has a replaceable voltage regulator. My experience is most likely its the voltage regulator that is bad, it would take more testing to confirm. Unfortunately, m...

Re: WTB Fuel Filter Bracket E30 325

Wow! 25$ for a 5$ part.

http://parts.bmwofstratham.com/p/BMW__/ ... 79676.html

If I get 50$ for mine, I'll give Neil and Al 49$ for taking it off.
First I'll have to figure out how to list things on ebay.

Drew,

You do know that is a left handed thread. The old rule doesn't apply.
I have a 11 52 7 505 302 by Berh, new.
Behr PN 8MV 376 733 001.
I'm 10 minutes off exit 120.

No help on the fan shroud. It does not cross to a E30 or E39 shroud

Re: parts location

Nice work! Removing the intake manifold is fun. On the Ti, I bet mine has been off 3 or 4 times in a years time. Every time it is back on something else goes south. I don't think you can see the knock sensors with smoke and mirrors. Replacing them without removing the manifold is a job best left for...

Re: want to buy

I've been driving 318's since 91, with a 5 speed they make a nice dd. I'm most familiar with the E30 version. My oldest daughter has a 97 318i 5 speed, my youngest has a 96 318ti 5 speed. It was not an accident they ended up with 318's. I'm happy with all 3, parts are reasonable and available. My se...

With all the 318s at my house there must be something in there that will save me. Where are you located?
