Greg, with the mileage indicated and the conditions you are describing, I would go with Ray's recommendation and replace all the hoses and separator. You really do not want this to fail on the road. It's not good when it *really* goes bad.

That is true... BUT the previous owner can retrieve his records. The original post said "I bought an M5....... The previous owner stated that some substantial work had been done on it at a dealership before he originally bought it but couldn't provide the receipts". That is the guy that can call for...

Have him call the dealer where the services were done. Customer pay is not shared or stored by BMW, so I would have no access to it. - Tim

Just got my first registration renewal stating no more inspection is required on the car. It is a 1994. Nice big paper enclosed with a card to keep in the car. The shop foreman at JMK was really really good with those cars. We used to service a bunch of them when I was there and he was ace at trouble shooting. - Tim

My advice would be to work with a bodyshop. You will see a much lower cost per labor hour. We are $158. Bridgewater is prob about the same. We have done these for E39 owners as well as E46 M3 owners. The same thing happens to the rubber parts. It can be pricey, but through the bodyshop network, much...
