WHAT I SAW IN JMK'S BODY SHOP PARKING LOT!!!!

I had to take my car to the bodyshop for an adjustment to my 5 series, and to my amazement I saw a new 3 series not an 05 an 06 (the new body syle) destroyed. I asked one of the techs what happend. Apparently BMW NA was testing the new 3 and hit a telephone pole. The driver was alright and got out with no injuries but the car took tremendous damage. All the airbags had been deployed and it was "almost" unregonizable. I guess when BMW NA tests their cars they really test them!!!

I don't believe they were deliberately hitting a telephone pole with a person in it. It was probably a genuine accident.

Oh yea I know they didn't do it on purpose. It was just very interesting
that it happend.

I agree!!!!!!!!!!!!

There will probably be some resistence when the new 3 comes out due to its body style. But like the 5, 7, and 6 series, people will come around and the new 3 will be as popular as the current one.

It took me quite some time to get over the body styling, but after seeing thousands of photos of it, it finally grew on me. Well, minus the rear. Those angled break lamps...ugh!

But what I can't get over is the interior. It makes me ill. iDrive is the biggest piece of worthless equipment I've ever used. I wish they would've left the interior alone.

Absolutely iDrive is too much, a bmw is a drivers car, if they put in idrive, they might as well put in automatic headlights and in an automatic seat belt buckler like on those Jap cars back in the mid 90's. But BMW has to keep up with the competition if Acura and Lexus gives you standard navigation and bluetooth they feel they have to too. Personally if I had a choice between an Acura fully loaded vs. a Bmw with just seats, a steering wheel, and an engine no a/c no radio. I would still take the Bimmer any day.
