Anyone running Hoosier 225/50/15s on an E30? Rubbing?

Post by s38junkie »

So I just ordered the Hoosier R Comps and they are a FULL one inch wider than street 225 tires. My car is a 1990 325i sedan with the E30 M3 5 lug swap. I was planning on mounting the Hoosiers on stock E30 M3 basketweaves.... but now I'm not sure if they will fit without major rubbing?

I have E38 basketweaves running 225 street tires now and the rears rub slightly - the fenders are partially rolled, not on the inside and that's where they rub.

The suspension is H&R springs and Bilstein Sports.

Thanks in advance.

if I recall E30 M3 basket weaves are 15x7, correct? If so I think you'll be fine. I've run 225/50/15 V710's which are both way wider than a street tire 225/45 and taller too and have not had any rubbing issues on a Et +20 15x7 wheel (the only variable is that I'm using standard 325 4-lug hubs).

I've also seen 225 A6's mounted up on an E30 on some 15x7 kosei K1's (dude was at Philly SCCA auto-x's alot but I think he sold the car to a club member recently), but again this was a 4-lug setup and this was not my car so i can't comment on actual fit and if any fender lip rolling was preformed.

I own that car and the 15x7 Koseis fit nicely with no fender rolling. They were a 17mm offset. I've sold them and I'm currently running 205s. After a season or two I might go back to 225s. I do still have leftover A6's (15" x 225mm) with quite a bit of tread if you're interested in a test fit. $50 takes the set of four. Let me know if you're interested.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to test fit them and see what happens. I'll post back.

PM sent about the A6s.

Hey Andy
I'll take those A6's off your hands if you still have them
