E30 Headlight Screw - Size?

Post by cfaust »

Does anyone know the size or part number of the phillips head sheet metal screws used to hold the E30 headlights to the body? I can't find it on the ETK, and haven't found anything locally that fits quite right.

Thanks in advance!

Chris I should have some extra screws for the headlight assembly from my parts car. Send me a PM if you want to stop by my Pick and Pull :)

Thanks,

I think I know the screw. I had to replace on the RR.

Not 100% but I believe it's item 4

Metric 3.9x13 self tapper. If it is, you should be able to substitute for the more common No 8 x 0.5"

I'll double check when I get home.

Chris, It's a 1/4 sheet metal screw 3/4"L. If you really want it Philips head order it from pelican et al.

Best I could find that you might find in a good hardware store:

Thanks Mike/Ed, and thanks for the offer Kev. Too busy with work (otherwise I'd be at the glen!) so I'll probably just order a few from pelican when I get a few other small bits. I've been stealing the parts off the m3 but need to replace them - and no, Kish, duct tape doesn't work on that car.

Thanks again everyone!
