Re: Looking for a book by Michael Krumm

Alex,

I ordered from both and got email stating the book was out of stock. They cancelled my orders since they do not have a re-stocking date.

Thanks,

Looking for a book by Michael Krumm

Does anyone have a copy of Driving on the Edge -The Art and Science of Race Driving for sale or borrow? I can't find a copy anywhere online.

Thanks,

Just remember to spread the word on our club! For some reason this event doesn't mention us at all.

Great event

I went yesterday and had a good time. I did the autocross in the 2 series and the 5 series. I also took a bunch of cars out on the road. This is an event worth checking out.

BTW, They have a grounded tent for cover when lightning storms blow past.

New web site

The new look is ok but for me there are a few issues: The recent forum subjects should be near the top of the screen - I believe most users come to the site to scan those more than any other reason The link to the driving events are no longer there The link to the autocross page is not there The pho...

Bluetooth

I did the BMW retrofit in my e38. It works with BMW voice commands and steering wheel controls. I have a dice in my Coupe which works but is not seemless. If you do a lot of calling I would go the OEM route. If you want to stream music; the Dice unit will work.

Have you checked, or changed, the oil separator?

I don't know what is local for you. Stable Energies (Garfield), Englishtown Raceway park and most likely any motorcycle shop which sells helmets. They should be able to mail one out in time for this weekend. Just make sure you get the right weight and not a winter version. You most likely want open ...

Charlie,

If you have time; pick up a balaclava (helmet sock). Using loaner helmets isn't fun with other people's sweat on you.

I agree no need to change the bumper. I would bring an extra quart of oil although you most likely won't need it.

I'll see you there!

Autocross is fine for mature drivers. I wouldn't recommend for a permitted driver. Obviously autocross doesn't take the place of a skid pad or a professional program but it does provide an opportunity to learn, and practice, skills which may save your life one day. Every driver should come to an aut...

Bill,

Yes! Our autocross program includes most of the skills taught in street survival. If it rains; we have a skid pad too.
